Going Nuts! Right Wingnuts and Left Wingnuts unite in anger over Peter McKay’s support for Pride

TORONTO – In a rare show of solidarity between political opposites, elements from both left-wing extremists and right-wing fringe of Canada’s political spectrum united in their opposition to Peter McKay’s support of Pride Month.

McKay, who is a leadership Candidate for the Federal Conservative Party of Canada, has long shown support for the LGBTQ community and recently announced that he would march in Pride Parades. For Pride month, he also changed his profile picture on social media to one with a Rainbow Logo of his campaign. Such a move has caused extremists in Canadian Society to voice their opposition to McKay’s message.

“I don’t know why I should hate him now” said a member of the Canadian Socialist Union, “I want him to be homophobic and he isn’t, I was going to just go online and call him a racist and say that he hates Muslims like I did with Kaycee Madu,” (Mr. Madu is a UCP MLA in Edmonton who immigrated originally from Nigeria) “Then I saw McKay’s beautiful wife and realized I couldn’t do that either. McKay being a genuinely good person that I can’t argue identity politics about just isn’t fair! Now I have to actually think for myself instead of how the NDP Anger-Machine tells me to”

Meanwhile, the Front de Liberation du Canada released the following statement on their website “It’s because of guys like Peter McKay that we left the Conservative Party. Supporting people of all beliefs, ethnicities and expressions isn’t something we want to be a part of.”

In response to McKay’s moderate positions on social issues, a Liberal strategist, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated “the campaign strategy now is to say McKay has a ‘secret agenda’ and our supporters will imagine what McKay MIGHT do as Prime Minister without us giving any actual reason for it.”
