MONTREAL - Bloc Quebecois leader Francois Blanchett took a short break from declaring that Canada was a blight upon his home province of Quebec by helpfully suggesting that the Prime Minister should assist in destroying Alberta's Oil Sands - Canada's largest economic generator.

"Yes, I do think it's a good idea for Canada to end the Oil Sands" said Blanchett, "more people out of work, less of an economy for Canada and unhappy citizens will make it easier for us to separate!"

In Alberta, Premier Jason Kenney was critical of Blanchett's comments- Calling the words "Un-Canadian" and suggesting that in the current Pandemic, Quebec would be hard pressed to replace the 60,000 barrels per day of Alberta oil they currently enjoy. Blanchett responded "of course I am Un-Canadian, I want Canada to burn down, why do you think I am suggesting they stop producing oil? But don't you dare stop keeping our cars driving and our homes heated!"

Several critics noted that Blanchett's advice seemed to be self-serving rather than of a benefit to Canada, to which the Bloc leader chuckled "no, really! It's in the best interests of Canada... really truly promise it is! Why would I lie about something like this?"
