VERMONT - After Democratic Presidential Contender Bernie Sanders announced that he was withdrawing his name from contention, several senior staffers have commented that the real motive had more to do with witnessing socialism at work in America than any of the reasons publicly stated by the Senator.
After emergency spending by President Trump including direct stimulus payments to individuals, locking down production by government order, and subsidizing companies with tax-payer funds had one senior staffer close to Senator Sanders stating "he just saw what socialism really looks like... and he thinks its awful!". The senior staffer continued "He saw how much the government was spending, the lock-down protests, and just how much work it really takes to run a socialist country and decided it wasn't what he wanted after all."
The Senator from Vermont is now expected to continue his rhetoric against corporations, small business owners, people who earn enough to feed their family, and people who own healthy dogs who - according to the senior staffer - the Senator believes to be "flea-ridden symbols of capitalist wealth".
