CALGARY - Violent protests erupted this morning as members of Extinction Rebellion, an international extremist movement, blocked entry to the South Health Campus in Calgary. The protests, with the stated purpose of shutting down any infrastructure that relies on fossil fuels to operate.

"We're sorry that people are going to die because of what we are doing, but EVERYONE is going to die if you don't stop using dead animals for fuel, like, right now!" stated the protest organizer. The statement echoed similar announcements after blocking major intersections in London and Vancouver, light rail transit in Toronto and Montreal, and barricading Railways throughout Canada.

Protestors continued shouting their point of view: stating that people in need of care should boycott Alberta Health Services, as their funding is provided from the provincial government which collects revenue from natural resource royalties. The protest turned violent as an injured construction worker, in obvious need of medical aid, was blocked entry to the Emergency Entrance. Local police attempted to break through the human barricade while calls of "Defund the Police! Shame! The only good Fascism is Eco-Fascism!".

After the protest was broken up and no arrests were made despite the blatant abuse of the right to assemble, the protestors announced that they would soon be protesting a nearby elementary school as Alberta Education also receives funding thanks to natural resource revenue.
