VANCOUVER - A local hockey fan is taking to social media to announce his support for restarting the NHL as soon as possible. Among the many reasons for launching a truncated Hockey Season, the fan stated that it is a Canadian tradition to riot in their city when the local team loses in the playoffs. The opportunity seems to be lost by many Canadians this season, who are experiencing "Fear Of Missing Out" or FOMO when seeing the various Protests south of the border.
"I just want to be able to riot like American's do," said the fan -who asked not to be named due to expected upcoming criminal charges- "they have Lockdown protests and Defund protests and eventually the riot and looting happens. We only do that for Hockey."
The fan is referring to various years in which Canadians would cause damage to both property and their cities reputation upon losing in the Playoffs or Stanley Cup Finals. Such events occurred in Edmonton (2006), Montreal (2008), Montreal again (2010), and Vancouver (2011).
On the issues surrounding the various uprisings in the United States, riotous Hockey Fans in Canada seem to be unconcerned: "I know we are protesting in Canada too, but we just don't have the energy to really trash our own downtown unless Hockey's involved," Says this hockey fan, "Except for Montreal, of course, stealing guitars for social justice is something we can all get behind!"
