VICTORIA - Amid accusations that the recent British Columbia election call during a pandemic was nothing more than a blatant power grab, Premier John Horgan set the record straight today: Declaring that the real reason British Columbians went to the polls was so that the Premier would no longer need to put up with Green party members heckling him at meetings.

"I'll never have to work with Greens again!" declared a jubilant Premier Horgan, "Everyone has a few super annoying 'Greenies' at work we have to put up with," continued the Premier. "They always demand you don't use straws or stop eating steaks because of cow methane. Then these ones came to my house back in February and tried to arrest me!" referring to an incident on February 18th where Green party members and other environmental extremists went to the Horgan residence to harass his wife and attempt a Citizens arrest of the Premier.

Despite the safety concerns of holding an election during a Pandemic, the NDP boldly went ahead of the Premier's plan. As a result, the Active cases after the NDP majority victory has skyrocketed from 1480 active cases on election day, Oct. 23rd, to 5743 active cases on Nov 12 - a 388% increase, one of the highest in Canada. Comparatively, Alberta saw an increase of 180% in active cases.

When questioned about the increase in COVID-19 cases and its relation to holding an unnecessary election, Premier Horgan responded: "If you had to risk a global pandemic in order to get rid of the 3 Greenies you have to work with... you'd do it too!"
